If you are about equal strength, they might leave you alone but prefer at least sabotaging you with covert ops. You won't see a map playing out like in for example Stellaris, where half the players might already love you, and most others can be immediately swayed into treaties with gifts. At game start, probably half the AI players get a random "dislike" modifier against you and half of the other players, so hostilities are inevitable. Second one destroys it and that's just better in every aspect.Īge of wonders 3 worked a bit differently where you'd simply take the dwelling and that's that. The AI is programmed to win, primarily by war and on their own terms. War-like it works like you expect, if you defeat the dwelling without having a city near to annex it, you get a choice to subdue it for 20 turns, making it docile OR to destroy it.įirst option grants you a breather from the constant war-spam. ![]() (Peacefully, this costs influence, just like it does now) Want the dwelling? Annex it, giving you full control. I'd rather just have it like it was in Age of wonders 3, but built into this system. They kept spawning high tier armies to send at me frequently, which means every game you ever play in this game is basically going to be -īuild 6 cities, discover 3-4 dwellings, pick 1, go to war with the other 3, desperately fight the 3 dwellings until you defeat one of the dwellings.Īnnex that dwelling's home, (NOT THAT YOU CAN USE IT / DESTROY IT LOL) get pestered with demands from said dwellings forever. ![]() I was at war with Spacers, paragons, Auto-thing, constantly. The other dwellings you find after that point will go to war with you automatically provided you still want that first dwelling's friendship. Yeah so just discovered something rather funny/stupid.ĭwellings can't actually be destroyed, so you get to pick that one dwelling you want, befriend it, etc etc etc.
